If Looks Could Kill

Little Catherine has been in the United States for over three years now. She came into the country on Humanitarian Parole and then we began the loads of paperwork USCIS (US Citizenship and Immigration Services) required to obtain her citizenship. Despite our efforts, she is still NOT a citizen. The latest news from USCIS was they wanted me and Catherine to fly 5,000 miles back to Republic of Georgia for a 10 minute embassy appointment. Even USCIS admitted this was ridiculous. Finally, we got the right information and filled out more paperwork. This time they wanted passport type photos for her paperwork.

Judging by the look on her face, if I were a USCIS officer, I would make her a citizen ASAP!

  1. That is a girl that should NOT be messed with! Love that little lady!

  2. I would pretty much give that gal anything she asked for. She seems to have a lot of personality!

  3. Seriously? I wondered how that all worked out but really still doesn't have citizenship? Really? :o( Wonder if I still have my contact info? Hang in there. And Catherine... smile.. peanut.. smile. It will make them wonder what you've been up to ;o) {{{HUGS}}}

  4. I love this kid and I've never even met her. :) She cracks me up. I didn't realize that she was from Georgia. I had a friend that was from Georgia. One of the nicest girls I know. I hope your week is going good. Thanks for the post I look forward to them!

  5. That is a great picture! You go little Catherine! I'd make you a citizen asap!

  6. What a convincing photo!

    We have two kids, who never became US citizens, due to a mistake on the American Embassy's part. They, however, became Israeli citizens at the moment of their adoption, so we are satisfied with that.
