Happy Valentine's Day!!!

When a day starts with chocolate, I will even get up early!!!

Isabella and Anastasia had a party at their two-day-a-week school. I was so proud of myself. We have tons and tons of socks with all kinds of flowers, kitties, owls, etc. that are thrown with reckless abandon in a big basket. I actually managed to find matching Valentine socks for each kid. Even I wore red socks. I felt a real sense of accomplishment (is that pathetic?).

Did someone say "icing"?

Francesca hung out at the food table during the whole party.

Some of the kids were scared of Francesca because of how she looks. But the more I talked to the kids and the more questions they asked, after a while, she became just one of the gang. I really think that people, me included, don't really know how to act with someone who looks or acts different. Once we can all learn about the person and their differences, it doesn't seem like such a big deal anymore.

My husband was a real hero today because he took us to my favorite restaurant, Red Lobster.
The girls got a "Shirley Temple".

What a guy, balancing a kid and paying the bill at the same time.

Hope everyone had a great Valentine's Day! I would love to hear about how you all celebrated!

  2. No chicken poo here. I did get the family some heart shaped donuts at your favorite place. :)
I love the pic of your hubby paying the bill. He and Francesca seem to be thinking the same thing. ;)

  3. We had to get take-out last night our oven went on the blink and well...my husband had to tinker at it instead of let me use the cook-top to finish dinner! Applebees and way too much money later we ate late...then he tinkered some more!

  4. My husband and I went to a movie while the kids were at school (The Vow. It was really good.) then took the kids to dinner at their favorite chinses restaurant. I love all your pictures! Francesca looks great! She looks like she is healing well!

  5. Our four littles got their teeth cleaned - we have to go to a dentist about an hour away, so it was road trip time. Found out our Meya has to have two minor fixes, but since she has cp she will have to be admitted to hospital for that. One of those logisticals things of who watches what kids etc... I know you know that so well! Then we headed home and stopped at Burger King for a romantic dinner! :)
