Two Less!!!

Notice the famous "yellow dress". It certainly brought us luck!
There are now two less orphans in the world! We passed court!!!! In 10 days (really it will be about 2 weeks because weekends don't count) we will be parents of Nastya and Moira! Then, I can finally share their names with you!

The court room....

There were quite a few questions in court, but nothing too hard. The prosecutor wanted to know exactly how much money we spend on each child per month. That was tricky to figure out quickly! When the judge asked Travis why he specifically wanted to adopt from this city, Travis' brain went into a coma. He couldn't think of anything to say, so he just kind of shrugged. I thought we would be denied right there! Then they wanted to know who would help me take care of so many children. I said my husband would help and they all laughed!

Hearing the judge say how the children were invalids and had never, ever had a visitor was tough to hear. Never again my sweeties!

Thank you so much for all your prayers and great ideas and support! You are all my lifeline!

Travis flies home on Friday so then I will be here alone. Thank God I have met such wonderful friends here that I won't even feel alone. I'll actually have a bed to myself! Really, I will miss Travis a lot!

Nastya has a fever again and has been crying a lot! They don't want me to feed her anymore because they think the food we fed her gave her a rash. I don't think kids usually get rashes from pasta, but who knows?

Moira was lying in her "pen" facing away from me when we came to see her today. When she heard my voice, she somehow managed to flip herself over to see me! I was thrilled! Do you think she looks a little more "alive"?

Sweet little Xavier really needs a mommy and daddy! He is free for adoption, just in case anyone is looking for a sweet son!

I ate something today that has made me really sick. That's what I get for being adventurous. I should have stuck with eating cereal!

  3. I am so happy for ALL of you! Moira does look a bit more awake and I love that she responded by rolling over to see you! Have you decided to keep their names or are you just not announcing them? I'll be praying that times flies by quickly and that both girls feel better soon! Congratulations! ~ Jo

So just why did they laugh at your husband helping take care of the kids? Was it after the coma/shrug to the previous question? We got a good laugh out of that too!!!

So happy. All will be well. Iwant to meet these little loves some day. Oh my.

Congratulations and sssooooooooooo glad you have some new friends to pass the time.

  8. Oh my goodness, I'm so encouraged by those pics of sweet Moira! May God "restore the years the locusts ate" in her precious life. (Joel 2:25)

  10. Congrats! What wonderful news!

I hope this means we'll get a new blog header soon, with the new girls included!

I'm going to try to to say this in the nicest way possible...
To be honest, your current blog header photo is really disgusting. I makes me cringe every time I see it.
Feet give me the creeps. A dirty foot on a face is just absolutely repulsive to me.
Sorry. Just being honest. I limit visits to your blog so I don't have to see the header photo; I know I'm not the only one who finds that image really disgusting.
I'd love to see a new header image with Moira and Nastya included! In fact, I'll volunteer to make it for you if you send me the photos and the dimensions of the final image.

  11. I wasn't going to say it, but I completely agree with Ellie.
That photo is really unattractive. I too would love to see a new header with Moira and Nastaya.

Congrats on a favorable court experience! That's wonderful. Just a few more days and you'll be able to start your new lives together, at home.
    Blessings.

  13. I'm so excited for all of you! So you will be staying until they are yours to take home, then? And then do you have to travel with them all by yourself? That will be a challenge but I know you will get through it.

I love the picture of Anastasia at the top. I think it's adorable and I have never once thought about her foot. LOL

  14. I love this post. You needed encouragement and God gave it through Moira's recognition of you. She will thrive in a BIG family of loving siblings, and in no time you will wonder what life was like without these 2 sweet girls. I can't wait for the time when you are free to feed YOUR girls anything at all that you want. It reminds me of NICU time, when no one could agree if I had the right or not to choose what diaper ointment to put on my little girl's bottom. :( Soon, very soon. I am so happy for you.

  15. and all of your pictures are so GREAT! I'm usually too timid to get all the pictures I really want, and later wish I had. I love that you are not letting anything keep you from recording what your girls may later want to know about and what your heart may need to recall when you need to remember how God stepped in and took over.

I LOVE your blog header, btw! Your little girl is adorable, and looks so happy in the pic. But then I'm kind of a barefoot Mama, and don't think there's anything yucky about kid feet... ;)
