Kleptos

Today I made an important discovery. My youngest two children are pickpockets. Thieves in Gymboree clothing. Bandits in barrettes.

When I was taking the stroller out of the car, guess what I found? In the bottom of the stroller were several items that Victoria and Francesca had pilfered from our recent visit to the mall to see Santa. Drat! I didn't want to have to visit the mall for a long, long, long time, especially two weeks before Christmas.

This little Lego cup cost $8!!!

Now I had to wash the purple marker off their faces and dress everyone up to look presentable and then drive back to the mall to return their goodies.

Of course, the mall was packed. We should have brought our hiking gear for our walk from the parking lot. Everyone at the stores were very nice, if not surprised, as I returned the toys. I swear, as we were leaving the various stores (yes, the little quick fingers managed to sneak stuff from all over the mall) I caught Victoria stuffing some earrings down her dress.

Then I tried to think of what would make our day even more fun. I know, we'll get Victoria's feet measured and shop for new shoes for her! That will cement my migraine right in place. Notice there aren't any pictures of Francesca and Catherine in the store? That was because they were just a blur as they busily rearranged all the shoes.

Oooooo, sparkly! We really liked these shoes, but she couldn't walk in them.

Sigh. Fancy shoes just didn't fit her correctly.

In the end, we went with the practical pair. Victoria was very pleased with her purchase.

I have my suspicions that Victoria planned this spending spree all along! Hey....wait a minute, that's not our "Hello Kitty" toy!
Noooooooooo!

  2. LOL, thank you for this post!!!
I have often joked with my husband that the diaper bag has turned us into a wild pack of Kleptos. I put everything on the counter but somehow forget to check under the diaper bag or even worse in the 2 yr old's arms :/
Glad to know we're not alone.

  3. I came to read your blog as my heart is absolutely broken to pieces over the beautiful lives that were taken today in CT. Your rescue of your beautiful children is evidence of the good in this world and I so needed that today. Thank you for sharing your family with all of us and for brightening up a very sad day for me.
