Boy, are we glad to be home! Thank you so much for all the support and prayers for Francesca. It has really kept me going.
All ready to go home!
Francesca did great on the airplane, but she still didn't sleep (she always closed her eyes when the camera flashed). I had a bad feeling people thought Francesca had fallen down the stairs or something. Maybe I should write on her casts
"syndactyly released baby". By the way, did you know kangaroos have syndactyly?
Poor baby had a plethora of tangles from shaking her head from side to side while laying on her back in bed. That is how she used to sooth herself when we first came home from Ukraine.
She hasn't really slept much at all since we have been home. I think she is afraid to go to sleep. After all, look what happened to her the last time she fell asleep!
We spent the day reading books and games. Little Catherine changed her outfit about 30 times. This is her princess face.
Victoria was less enthusiastic about dressing up.
It was great to be able to sit outside in the sun and get some fresh air.
Victoria hung out with baby Jesus.
Anastasia and Catherine skated.
And we ate the rest of our our "Happy Birthday Jesus" cake.
Originally, I had gotten some of those sugar decorations for the cake, but they only survived about 5 minutes before they were begging me to eat them. I decided that Jesus wouldn't really like reindeer on his cake anyway.
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!!
So so glad to see you all HOME! Love your courage and your heart! I keep thinking that, although each hurdle is SUCH a trial...how BLESSED that she can be here in the US to be able to access those surgeries that will change her life!

Happy New Year. Glad you are home. Praying she sleeps well and that you can get some rest too.
ReplyDeleteI probably refreshed this link like 30 times waiting for your next post! I did pray for sweet Francesca several times and was concerned she was still hospitalized or having pain management problems. Glad to hear that all is well for the most part. Bet she relaxes and rests better at home where she is safe :) Blessings to you and your New Year!

ReplyDeleteMy best to you and especially Francesca, May I suggest California Baby Leave-in Conditioner/Detangler? Or maybe she needs to wear a sleep cap like an old lady. :)

Poor sweet little Francesca. I'm sure she's exhausted! And little Victoria's face dressing up.....priceless! I hope you're able to get some rest.

I'm glad you are home! Hope recovery goes well for Francesca. Her sisters will make sure she is not bored!
ReplyDeleteFracesca looks great! Love the 2 colors of casts and how they are alternated. My special needs granddaugher who's undergone Chiari surgery twice, isn't wild about anyone combing, brushing or playing with her head in anyway...so, bedhead it is. I do pray this brave little girl will learn to sleep again. Victoria look precious as a princess, as well, as Catherine. Glad you 2 are home safely.
