I filled a wrapping paper storage box with dried pinto beans and a small amount of other beans (big white ones, name?) to mimic rocks. He loves it just as much as rice and it's less messy because the beans are bigger. He often just lays down in the box and tries to bury himself. And as the first commenter pointed out we put a sheet down first - a KING size one!SleepyMomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06376081238808090583noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6480927676896809475.post-80230074964047067212011-11-12T23:50:16.667-08:002011-11-12T23:50:16.667-08:00Very brave with the rice :) Have you ever made flu...Very brave with the rice :) Have you ever made flubber or gack? Those are great fun! Also, if you go to a Starbucks or any major coffee place and ask for their coffee grounds they will be more than happy to save them and let you have them. If you keep it uncovered then it will last for a week or two, you can put it in a little sandbox or sensory tub. It smells amazing, and is a LOT cleaner than dirt!!Homeschoolin Mama https://www.blogger.com/profile/08498224321720906377noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6480927676896809475.post-65747146078714767212011-11-12T22:19:08.903-08:002011-11-12T22:19:08.903-08:00A suggestion for the rice sensory experience -- pu...A suggestion for the rice sensory experience -- put down a sheet first, then sit on it with your bins of rice while you play. That way when it's done you just gather together the corners of the sheet and get (most of) the rice picked up (to dump outside or in the trash or whatever).

And there's an extra little one in your last photo, right? I was sure you only had 5 girls... (I seriously counted that picture and the others multiple times, just to make sure I wasn't imagining things (it is really late, after all).)Katiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09165488839239946461noreply@blogger.com
